Background
Loxbit Public Company Limited (“the Company”
or “LOXBIT”), formerly known as “System Organization Company Limited,”
was established on 27 April 1982 by Loxley Public Company Limited,
with a registered capital of 10 million baht, to undertake the
distribution of the Electronic Data Capture (EDC) equipment, serving
various commercial banks. In 1993, the Company commenced providing
business services on information technology (IT) in relation to
the System Integration (SI), and the name of the company was changed
to Loxley Business Information Technology Company Limited. Since
1996, the Company has continuously expanded the information technology
business leading to the Internet services, with the establishment
of a subsidiary company named Loxley Information Services, or
“Loxserve.” Loxserve carries out the business on Internet Service
Provider (ISP) under a 10-year concession, expiring in 2006, granted
by the Communications Authority of Thailand (CAT). Another subsidiary
company, called Loxley Information, or “Loxinfo,” has been established
under the CAT concession to provide Internet services in the form
of Website Hosting and Database Hosting.
Furthermore, during the past decade the Company has periodically
restructured the organization with a view to being the leader
in the provision of integrated IT data and products. The Company
has merged the IT-related business of its subsidiary companies,
once managed by the parent company, Loxley PLC.., with the LOXBIT
Group. They comprised Professional Computer Company, the provider
of mainframe computers (merged in 1996) and NetOne Network Company,
the provider of computer system network setup (merged in 1998).
Besides, non-performing subsidiaries or those operating duplicate
businesses, such as Open System Integrator Company and Progress
Information Company, were liquidated.
Business Operation
The Company and its subsidiaries operate an integrated information
technology and communication (ICT) business. The main business
is providing System Integration Services, comprising IT hardware,
software, peripherals and network equipment to the public sector,
state enterprises as well as the private enterprises. Also, the
Company provides such IT products as CPU, mainframes, large systems
and self-service machines to commercial banks, for instance, ATMs,
Passbook Update Printers, Cheque Sorters and Electronic Data Capture
(EDC).
Furthermore, the Company provides services on networking telecommunications
systems, such as the public phone network system and the Personal
Identification Number (PIN) system, and designing the Synchronous
Digital Hierarchy (SDH) system via the modern fiber optic cable
network. Other services provided by the Company include setting
of the wireless computer networks and of LAN and WAN system networks,
and the Internet Solutions Development (ISD) for customers in
both the public and the private sectors. LOXBIT is now contemplating
on foreign customer groups in the Asian region with a view to
expanding the customer base for various businesses of the company
and to gaining better recognition in the international market.
The ICT-related business of LOXBIT and its subsidiaries are divided
into four key business lines as follows:
- System Integration (SI) Services Outsourcing and Related
Product Distribution
- Networking Telecommunications (NTC) and Related Product Distribution
- Satellite Image (SIM)
- Internet Solution Development (ISD) and Related Business
The operation of the four key business lines of LOXBIT and its
subsidiaries is carried out via the following operational structure
to build up specialized expertise as well as to segregate the
risks. Besides, the Company encourages its subsidiaries to be
self-reliant and autonomous to be flexible in working, based on
the fundamental philosophy of the Company’s business operation
with the belief that “the Customers’ Success is Our Accomplishment.”
